The following rebate programs have closed on December 24, 2016. Participating contractors must note the key dates to ensure all rebates will be processed. Please continue to check this page regularly for more updates.

Important Dates

  • December 24, 2016: Final service date for contractors to perform program work

  • February 24, 2017: Last day for customers and contractors to rectify and submit missing information for applications with outstanding issues
  • March 31, 2017: Last day for rebate checks to be issued by Honeywell, which will be received by contractors and customers in April

Program Information

  • Which programs are ending?

    The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) approval period for all DSM II programs is expiring. This will affect the four residential programs (Heat Pump Tune-Up including Multifamily, Heat Pump Upgrade, Duct Sealing and Home Energy Check-Up) and two of the non-residential programs (Energy Audit and Duct Testing & Sealing).

  • Why are the programs ending?

    Thank you for choosing to participate in Dominion’s Contractor Network and offering energy conservation rebate programs to our customers. These 6 programs were approved by the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) for a limited time and will be closing on December 24, 2016.

    Dominion remains committed to helping our customers conserve energy and maximize savings. We are currently working to develop new programs for SCC approval for launch in Summer 2017, so please continue to visit our contractor website at www.dom-vendor.com for updates.

  • When will the programs end?

    There are a few critical dates you need to know, which are summarized in the table below.

  • When is the last day to perform work for these programs?

    The last day for contractors to perform rebate eligible work for all DSM II programs is December 24, 2016. No rebates will be issued for projects performed after December 24, 2016.

  • When do rebate applications have to be submitted?

    To be eligible, all rebate applications must be postmarked by February 7, 2017 if sent by mail. If contractors are submitting online, it must also be entered by February 7, 2017. No rebates will be issued for applications submitted or postmarked after February 7, 2017. All rebates will be processed and paid out by March 31, 2017.

  • What if there are issues with the rebate applications?

    Applicants will be notified of outstanding issues and must send in resolution such as missing rebate information to Honeywell by February 24, 2017 in order to complete rebate processing.

    It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all requirements for the rebate are met. Failure to provide any of the required information by February 24, 2017 could result in non-payment.

  • Are there plans to launch new programs in the future?

    Yes, Dominion is currently working to develop new programs for SCC approval for launch in Summer 2017, so please continue to visit our contractor website at www.dom-vendor.com for updates.

Promoting the Rebate Programs

  • How long can I continue to advertise Dominion’s rebate programs?

    Contractors can continue to advertise and promote the DSM II rebate programs in Virginia until October 31, 2016 with an updated disclaimer. All ads (regardless of whether they are eligible for the Co-op Advertising Program) must be submitted to Ali Stevenson for approval prior to print or distribution to customers.

  • Will the Co-op Advertising Program still be available?

    All full status participating contractors are eligible to participate in the Co-op Advertising Program when promoting the Heat Pump Tune-Up, Heat Pump Upgrade or Residential Duct Sealing programs but the ads can only be in market or distributed until October 31, 2016.

    The Home Energy Check-Up, Non-Residential Energy Audit and Non-Residential Duct Testing are not eligible for co-op reimbursements.

  • What is the new disclaimer that needs to be applied on our ads?

    • For the Heat Pump Tune-Up, Heat Pump Upgrade and Residential Duct Sealing programs, please use:

    • For the Home Energy Check-Up program, please use:

    • For the Non-Residential Energy Audit and Duct Testing & Sealing Programs, please use:

      Certain conditions apply. By participating in this program, you are signifying your agreement to the Terms and Conditions of the program. Call us for details. Service must be completed by December 24, 2016 to be eligible for the program rebate incentive.

  • When do I need to submit the Co-op Expense Form for reimbursement?

    Contractors must submit all outstanding Co-op Expense Forms along with additional requested materials by November 30, 2016 to Ali Stevenson.

  • When will I receive the last reimbursement check for Co-op?

    Payment will be made in the form of a check to contractors within six to eight weeks from November 30, 2016, which is the last submission date for all Co-op Expense Forms.

  • Will I receive production rewards or gift cards through 2016?

    Production rewards will continue through December 2016. Participating contractors who have achieved their monthly milestones in the Heat Pump Tune-Up, Heat Pump Upgrade, and Residential Duct Sealing programs in 2016 will receive gift cards on a quarterly basis. Gift cards for production in the fourth quarter will be distributed in January 2017.

Communicating to Your Customers

  • What should contractors share with customers about the Program Closure?

    The Virginia State Corporation Commission approval period for the residential Heat Pump Tune-Up, Heat Pump Upgrade, Home Energy Check-Up and Duct Sealing, as well as non-residential Energy Audit and Duct Testing and Sealing programs is expiring.

    Customers who are interested to participate must complete the service with their participating contractor by December 24, 2016.

    To qualify for a rebate, the rebate application must be postmarked by February 7, 2017 if sent by mail. If submitted online by the contractor, it must also be entered by February 7, 2017.

    It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all additional requested documents are submitted along with their application package for the rebate to be successfully processed.
